On January 29th 2010 the Harbour Lights pub in Peterhead was host to the RNLI SOS Quiz Night 2010.
With a pub quiz, raffle and food available, the night was a great success raising around £500 for the RNLI.
The meat of the evening was the pub quiz - 50 questions to terrify the most hardened pub quiz aficionado, spread over 5 intense rounds, with 19 teams battling for the lions share of the 53 points on offer.
By the end of the evening however there was one clear winner. Belying their own team name, team "Fear Not" rose to the top with an impressive 37 points and showed that they were indeed to be feared in the heady world of the pub quiz. Team members George Proctor, Danielle Reid, Maggie Wilson and Murray Smith just met that night and decided to throw a team together, according to team member George Proctor! Murray Smith attributes their impressive display to a "combination of experience and beauty", and said that "ex fishermen carry the wisdom of the world". Well, we can't argue with him there! Maggie Wilson said she was pleased to take part as it was "all for a good cause". We couldn't agree more. Our congratulations to the winners on their well deserved prize of a monstrously big bottle of bubbly each!Winning team "Fear Not" receiving their deserved reward.
